Social Recreation

What is

Social Recreation?

Social recreation refers to activities that we engage in for enjoyment and leisure while fostering social interaction and community connections. It encompasses a wide range of pursuits, from organized sports and group games to arts and crafts, cultural events, and outdoor adventures.

Games and activities can include, but are certainly not limited to, Kareoke and singing to gardening and chess, puzzles, pool, yoga, learning to swim, learning to ride bikes, field trips, playing dance challenges on our brand new iWall, drawing, arts and crafts projects, making jewelry, making masks- the possibilities are endless.

The primary goal of social recreation is to provide opportunities for people to come together, build relationships, and enhance their well-being through shared experiences. By participating in these activities, youth can develop social skills, reduce stress, and improve their physical and mental health, all while enjoying the camaraderie that comes from engaging with others in a fun and supportive environment.

Every day is different in Social Recreation, but always engaging, meaningful, and fun!  There is always something to keep our members' minds occupied and their curiosity piqued.
