We are so proud to award this year's Youth of the Year honors to Story Johnson. Story embodies all of the qualities that make up a Youth of the Year.
About Story, in her own words:
My hobbies are reading, coloring, and singing. Oh, poetry as well. What I enjoy doing at the Club is talking to people and making bracelets in the art room, and listening to music, and talking with my friends in the teen room. I also enjoy doing Karaoke in the games room. I am happy to be youth of the year because I get to inspire others to believe in their dreams and in themselves.
Youth of the Year is Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s highest honor, recognizing a new generation of leaders, fully prepared to live and lead in a diverse, global and integrated world economy.
In the 21st-century world and workplace, leadership skills such as communication, goal-setting and teamwork are essential for everyone – especially young people preparing to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood.
