Character
& Leadership
Our programs help youth become responsible, caring citizens, and acquire skills to participate in the democratic process. Program participants also develop leadership skills and gain opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to Club and community, and celebrating our national heritage.

Whatever it takes to creates great futures
Youth of the Year is Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s highest honor, recognizing a new generation of leaders, fully prepared to live and lead in a diverse, global and integrated world economy.
In the 21st-century world and workplace, leadership skills such as communication, goal-setting and teamwork are essential for everyone – especially young people preparing to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood.

Rewarding Academic Excellence
This fall, our Club presented the first annual
LeRoy & Shirin Chase Academic Achievement Award to Malcolm Hadley.
Malcolm's outstanding grades helped him get accepted into every college he applied to, and landed him generous financial aid support from the school of his choice. The Club presented him with a collection of gifts to make his dorm room more comfortable, along with a $2500 scholarship to offset the cost of living expenses and textbooks.
The entire Club turned out to congratulate this remarkable young man on his bright future. Malcolm's family was present too, including his siblings, who are following in his footsteps as Club members themselves.
